Cotton Mather vs TFC

Read in a review of Cotton Mather's "Death Of The Cool" dated 26 December, 2016

"...The reviewer remembers endless debate on an internet forum 15 years ago on the respective qualities of Cotton Mather and Teenage Fanclub, the general consensus emerging that the American’s songwriting and arrangements were generally a bit more diverse than there English counterparts (even it stays in firmly established pop paradigms)..."

By the way I disagree with the general consensus.

Live music is better

Teenage Fanclub is the band in the world. That reviewer must be jaded or he has sausages in his ears. Apparently residing in East Watford must posion your hearing.

It also says "there English". Cotton Mather's arrangements and songwriting probably was "generally a bit more diverse" but that doesn't mean they were better. I do like Cotton Mather though. I've been listening to The Big Picture recently, as well as his 2016 album. "Usually lighthearted and fun, but occasionally The Clash tickling Spandau Ballet and accidentally beheading them."
