So sorry to hear about your dad, Lauree. Those posts about your father's progress were pretty inspiring in their own way as he really seemed to be fighting against it and very courageously too. You and your family are in my thoughts xx

Thank you, we're all in a bit of a daze right now. The past 5 months were challenging and focused on his care. The past week, we were in the hospital around the clock. My siblings and I were determined that someone would be there all the time so he wouldn't be alone. It will be hardest once I go back to Virginia and am on my own. I don't have to be back any time soon, work is very flexible, but I want to go and have my radio show tomorrow if I'm up for it. Music will help.

We're having a memorial service February 4 so up until then we'll have loads of planning. I think after that, it will really sink in. Even though he couldn't walk on his own in the past 5 months, I keep thinking he'll walk through the door at any moment. I'm so fortunate to have 44.5 years with him, when I know others don't have as much time.

While I felt a bit guilty being away in Glasgow in early December, I'm so glad I was there and got to meet so many and spend time in a city I hold very dear in my heart. I've only been there twice now, but I can't wait to visit again. I only hope I can make more effort to see people and places more often.

x

Mums been gone 10 years this June. Still sinking in. Stay strong, get the support around you for when you move back to kind of 'prepare' you for later on.. just be assured that you were with him when he needed you to be and he knew you were all there for him. You're right, some people don't get that - my half brother and my mum weren't talking at the time, must be very hard on him even though he probably wouldn't admit it - I wouldn't really know cos he cut himself off from us just after it happened and he refuses to get in touch. We didn't know she was dying or I would have contacted him to let him know. He probably thinks we did know, but we really didn't know she had cancer until the post mortem. When mum left it was like a new onion skin slip of a day continued to separate us until it eventually turned her in to memory only. Take care of yourself xx

Heard Edwyn & Grace on BBC Radio 6 this morning. They talked about his studio up North.
He is working on his own material and producing new music for more bands.
The only one I remember is The Sexual Objects.
Does not matter I enjoy all his involvement with bands and musicians.
I remember when I first saw this video = loved it then and love it now.
I have the 7inch and plan to spin this next month for my 30minute DJ set.

I'm loving Girl Ray. I ca hear elements of Kevin Ayers, Laura Nyro, Carole King, Euros Childs and Todd Rundgrenn in their songs. I'm excited about their forthcoming album.
