This took me quite a while but I eventually got it down to ten. This is only today's list, mind, tomorrow's could be totally different.

And it was just too much to place these one to ten, so alphabetical order it is:

Broken
Did I Say
Dumb Dumb Dumb
Gene Clark
I'm In Love
Mount Everest
My Uptight Life
Speed Of Light
Start Again
Your Love Is The Place Where I Come From
I fear the worst.

Oooh, cannot resist a list, despite this being a ridiculously difficult one to compile, but here goes - this is my top 10 at this particular moment in time of thinking about it - these things change all the time though ;-). (Maybe worth reminding people of a couple of my faves that just missed out on this list that are lesser known: Headstand and Mad Dog 20/20 - a quick think about this list drew me back to listening to those two for the first time for a long while). So here goes:

1. When I Still Have Thee
2. Fear of Flying
3. Sparky's Dream
4. If I Never See You Again
5. Mellow Doubt
6. The Concept
7. Broken (always enhanced by memories of it being the phenomenal last song of the acoustic gig in the 3-night run at The Underworld in 2001)
8. December
9. The Cabbage
10. Feel

Speaking of lesser knowns, "Traffic Jam" has always been a particular fave.

Traffic Jam is one of those rare songs where I actually prefer a cover version of this, by Marykate O Neil, to the original.

I'll have to listen as I've not heard it. Tough one to best. That reverb on Norman's voice in the intro gives me chills. Very Sister Lovers.

Traffic Jam is a pretty amazing. The vocal is amazing and the solo is simple but heart-rending. Great track. Another track which has the same effect on me, to the extent that I see them as bookends of one another, is Too Pure by Sebadoh. I'd be interested to see if anyone else feels the same way. Which would probably be weird. In a good way.

It's not bad by any means, but can't touch the original (in my humble opinion). That steely effect on the vocal makes it sooooo heartrending. Then again, it's one of my fave TFC songs ever, so I'm biased. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it!
