He disappeared a couple of years ago, completely. From Twitter too.

Longer than I thought, his last message on twitter is "Been away from internet, will back soon." on 5th Dec 2012!

I hardly know who anyone is on FB group. Wish they'd stop using their real names!

I 'bumped' that 'If Ya Had To' thread last week after me and Julie had been talking about him.

And that led to us chatting about the Starsailor message board invasion. I did not partake, I think I was a lurker look out, but good memories.

His framed benefit concert poster adorns my record room wall. Miss ya, big man. You were exceptional.

Before the gigs several of us would all arrange to meet Tom in the pub and he would dispense music to people and then enthusiastically disect everything TFC over a few pints.. a new album, the song choices pre-gig and take pleasure in guessing who made those choices and then if it was the second or third night he'd say "well I stood on Raymond's side last night think I'll stand on Gerry's" or vice versa, on occasion he'd smile and say think I'll heckle Norman a little bit tonight (he definitely had a devious sense of humour too) :-)

I often wonder what he would say about this new album.. I miss that input, his break down of each track and his opinions on the whole thing. His exploits with Doug also. He could tell a funny story!

Never a truer word. I think about Tom often. I have so much music in my collection that Tom pointed me to.

He once gave me a copy of Julian Cope's book "Krautrocksampler: One Head's Guide to the Great Kosmische Music". A photocopy. Apparently it took him most of a day standing at his work's copier. He accompanied it with 5 CD-Rs full of Kraut Rock mp3s.

Here's a photo from happier times - outside Stereo after The Primary 5 album launch gig.
