IT Gibbon in much the same mould as SD (without having to work in England :D ).

Just spent 20 mins in the bog playing solitaire on my Palm Pilot (oo-er sounds a bit rude). Basically, skiving comes with the territory.

I went straight from studying into settling down and starting a family at 19. Currently unemployed, did get into uni to study Music and Media management at degree level but with having 3 children and being a divorced single parent I had to postpone my studies this year :(

Ideally I'd like to have a career in and around music and the media. Hopefully I'll be back on track later this year (now my youngest is starting school) but I'm currently working on a few home projects off my own back to increase my chances.

I'm an English student at Glasgow Uni. The definition of a student in the Arts is skiving.

I'm supposed to be studying...

Obviously to a higher level than I ever did, cos that sentence makes zero sense to me!

Skiving definitely doesn't come with the territory at my work; I manage a support service for survivors of domestic violence. I never use the net at work for anything other than work, and never have. If I need to check something out online for work then I have lovely administrators to do that for me, they don't get to doss about online all day either as they're busy checking out bedspaces in refuges, arranging emergency legal advice and letting me know what's available where and when. I really like my work very much and I'm passionate about what I do, I couldn't work at something I loathed or which bored me. I do use the net at home though :)

Tat, good luck with the home grown projects, hope you get sorted with uni this sept/oct.

An engineer for cooling towers which go on skyscrapers, hospitals factories etc. so I don't have the luxury of being able to go online during the day. Y'know I have a proper job where its hard graft and I have to get my hands dirty!!! 8)
