Love this version of The Concept. Full album is released in a couple of weeks. Sounds like it might be worth a punt

Does anyone know if there will be plans to make this available other than via the subscription you appear to have to take out with the monthly vinyl club releasing this?

It's very respectful and true to the original but with a few new flourishes that add to it. Very very good. Sparkling production too. I'll always prefer the original though, but I'm sure Ben would too. It'll bear repeated listening.

Very nice indeed, although I would have secretly hoped that it would be a version less faithful to the original.

One thing that popped into my head while listening to it: Would TFC's version possibly sound like or similar to this, if they recorded the songs for the first time now (if you catach my drift)?

Cheers. Checked it out last night. It's pretty good. Some tunes work better than others.

I thought December and I Don't Know were the best. His version of The Concept gets a thumbs-up too for originality.

I find his singing style and proper enunciation of every word a bit grating at times. The ramshackle nature of the original is a large part of its charm but it was an enjoyable listen and endears me to the original even more - like when you are shown a familiar and loved building or view from another angle or in a different light.
