I've seen talk on the Facebook event page for the Fleece that the venue sometimes upgrades gigs that are 'too big' to the Anson Rooms or other venues. I'm not sure how they know whether it's 'too big' or not, or just big enough. I've been to some gigs that get upgraded and there isn't enough time to fill the extra capacity, and it feels a bit half empty. I've also been to a couple of gigs that get downgraded and there are tonnes of people outside trying to get tickets on the night, and if they'd bought them in advance the gig might not have gotten downgraded to a smaller venue. I guess they never really know how it's going to go. But the last few TFC gigs I've bought tickets for have all sold out the same day.

There is going to be 'extensive' touring when the album is released though according to Norman on Twitter. So I'm sure they'll swing by Bristol again.

I got the number of the manager off of a friend, he said due to the fact more dates are coming up it's unlikely they'll move to a bigger venue.
I'll just need to pay some charlatan outside the 'going rate'

I was attempting to buy a ticket for this gig (any gig, actually) and the computer said that there was 1 ticket left. I put it in my cart. And then it was gone. SO close. I've always wanted to go to The Fleece because I love The Blue Aeroplanes, but not this time.
I don't know if I'm going to any of the shows. Having a physical ticket (or several physical tickets) makes going through customs SO much easier.
Not having a ticket always leads to this 5 minute long awkward exchange with a customs agent who does NOT care about music.

"So, who is this Teenage Gangclub"?
"Eh, they're a band from Glasgow. You ever hear of Oasis? One of the guys said they were the "second best band in the world". After Oasis, of course."

Exciting times!

I took a few from last night.

The weather was filthy, driving rain all the 2.5 hrs each way but it was nice and warm in the Fleece. Such a wonderful gig, they looked pleased to be playing together again. The whole time they were onstage I just wasn't worrying about anything else.

I am having real trouble posting them on here though!

Looking forward to seeing some, Ruthie. Rock Action shots!

Those are FANTASTIC! Very high quality and quite beautiful. Thank you very, very much.

What I want to know is: what is Gerry's diet? How does he remain so svelte all these years later? He's tiny! I've always said that his Fender looks like he's playing an acoustic double bass sideways :D

He's not tiny!

They were all looking pretty svelte on Saturday night by the way, everyone of them. I wonder if their rehearsals included some kind of boot camp?

Isn't he an 'almost vegetarian'? I can't remember. Ask him when you see them live. Like, shout up the question in between a song. Yeah.

*oh by the way thanks for the photo comments. I was right up close so relatively easy to get in focus shots. It was a very well lit stage too.
