David Bowie RIP

David Bowie RIP

Postby JOHN S on Mon Jan 11, 2016 3:14 pm

Not really sure what to say except what a very sad day today is. I have not been a massive fan in more recent years but the man has made some of the best music I have ever heard and sound tracked many of our lives. I have shed a good few tears today, I 1st saw him live in Torquay in July 1972, I loved Hunky Dory and Ziggy was out and it was not long before he became huge star. A true musical genius...

I shed a tear also John. Found out as soon as I got up this morning from a post on fb. Felt a bit weird at first because I thought it was a hoax but read his official fb notice but still couldn't accept it. Almost like Bowie should be around forever for some reason, like a mythical hero. Told the kids and they too were shocked. Spent the whole time at the issue desk at work reading peoples reactions and obituaries.

Bowie was huge. So many great songs. He will be missed.

When I first heard I thought it was a stunt for Lazarus.

RIP
