Could never work out if Norwegian Wood was 1 2 3, 1 2 3, or 1 2 3 4 5 6! You get the piano music for some of these things and sometimes it's a surprise, like you never really knew the song at all!

Did I Say is 5/4 and is a divil to play. One of my new pieces for 6 is 5/4. I have to count 1 2 3 1 2, otherwise I get so confused.

And of course sometimes published time signatures are incorrect. So when I was confused about Did I Say, I was able to ask the guy who wrote it! We're lucky like that here aren't we? :D

Pretty indistinguishable except for the speed.. 3/4 could be 6/8 but it depends how vivace or lento you wanna go with it.. I was singing it about the kitchen today whilst making sunday dinner (like any good little woman does on a sunday) and for me singing at 3/4 was slower than 6/8.. 6/8 had more punchiness to it..

Yeah it's definitely 6/8 but apparently Paul didn't read music when he wrote it, and an error at the publishing house meant when the sheet music was published it had the wrong time signature on it. He didn't have a time signature when he wrote it, so if you play it how it sounds, it's correct, regardless what the time signature says. If that makes sense.

So I'm off to watch the Strain then practice my piano pieces. If I get time between the laundry and sweeping the floor.

At the end of a recording session on June 15, 1965, Bob Dylan recorded a little diddie called Like a Rolling Stone in 3/4 time.
The next day he would speed it up and 4 takes later gave us the greatest rock and roll song of all time.

With all the great songs on Blonde on Blonde, 4th Time Around is my favorite. I'm reminded that there is a huge Dylan 1965-66 18 CD offering coming early November on Bob's website (13 takes of Fourth Time Around). There is also a 6 disk version. It's pricey, but those were two of the best years any artist ever had. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B015JXIA4K/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?qid=1443586745&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX110_SY165&keywords=bob+dylan&dpPl=1&dpID=61HZRkgSBaL&ref=plSrch#featureBulletsAndDetailBullets_secondary_view_div_1443586770834
