The pearlfishers

They played a wonderful set tonight at the Mitchel Libary as part of the Celtic Connections festival.
It was a very cold and snowy night in glasgow, my drive from Dunfermline normally takes around 50mins to 1 hr, tonight it took nearly 3 hours. So sadly I missed all of the support and the first three songs of the Pearlfishers, so not a great start. But even - the 1st three songs this was a very special gig and i am so glad I kept going. I was sat right at the back next to the sound desk and was lucky to get the set list -

Gone In Winter
Up with the larks
To the Northland (very sad I did not hear this belter)
You'll Never Steal my Spirit
The Way my Father Talked About Vincent
The Umbrellas of Shibuya
Open Up Your Colouring Book
Womack & Womack

wonder section when joined by Brian McAlpine

Za Za's Garden/St Francis Songs
You Want Love
Rhinestones In my Eyes

Eco Schools
Blue Riders On The Range (my of my all time favorites)
Say Goodbye to The Fairground

encores
----------

New Stars
Stella Painted Joy

As I said a really wonderful night, I know Duglas was in the room so hopefully he will let us know what he thought. :D

It was a magical show.
Too many highlights to mention. Wish I'd seen you there John.
