Anyone want to share a room with me at the festival in Egersund, Norway? I have a double room, but it'll only be me going. It's very expensive, but there might be someone here crazy enough. The hotel is £280 pr. person for three nights. The festival is £110. You can fly to Stavanger and then it's about an hour by train to Egersund.

The full line-up is here:
http://www.egersundvisefestival.no/info ... 62.no.html

Hightlights include:
Thursday 4. July: Steve Wynn w/friends, The Minus 5
Friday 5. July: All-nighter with The Baseball Project, I Was A King, Robyn Hitchcock & The Venus 3
Saturday 6. July: The Steve Wynn Band, The New Mendicants, The I Was A King Experience, Peter Buck

From what I remember of pics of the hotel, it's really picturesque. So about twice the price of a Premier Inn, but maybe 4 times as nice. If you think of it like that, it's a steal.

Also, that's a really really cheap price for a 3 day festival ticket.

I'm intrigued by the band name Hovering Orville. At festivals if I have spare time I often go to see bands I've never heard of just based on their name. This would be one for me if I was going! :-)

Add Nottingham and Birmingham to the list:

For once I've found out about a TFC-related-project in time to see them live! How do non social media types find out about this stuff? It does mean 4 gigs in 4 nights for me though. :S

Wed: The Strypes, Stoke
Thur: Embers in Salford
Fri: British Sea Power in Derby
Sat: The New Mendicants in Manchester

Wow, that was a special night! The beauty of The New Mendicants is hard to describe. Their songs are so strong and their harmonies makes you want to cry. It was perfect.

Norman also did some vocal harmonies with the I Was a King Experience last night and joined the Peter Buck band on The Ballad of John and Yoko. What more can you ask for?

Glad it was a good time, Terje. What, besides the stuff on the EP, did they play?
