Bullying only achieves it's objective when it affects the person bullied ?

Surely on a message board online in front of a computer with an anonymous person attempting to rile you (or others) this objective is impossible ?

Will the greatest will in the world, you'd have to be very thick skinned not be slightly upset by any outright criticism of your personality by someone on here. To be honest, if someone has been upset, I think this is the kind of tolerant place to express that notion. Hopefully, the culture of the place will stop the perpetrator(s) of the upset from continuing.

Some people find anonymous Guest insults more upsetting, but to me it's less of a problem as it means the person who wants to have a go at you is too weak to do it under their own name.

I think the nastiness should stop; we're all adults & fans of the best fucking band in the world. Let's celebrate that fact.

There was a case in the last couple of years on the fall forum of a guy who suffered from serious depression that was bullied (it can be particularly nasty on there but in this particular case was on par with the petty name calling and snide comments that sometimes occur here).

He dissapeared off the board and a few months later one of his pals logged on to announce his suicide adding that he loved the fall more than almost anything.

Whilst no-one believed that it was as a direct consequence of the bullying on the forum, it will obviously not have helped, there were a number of people that must have done some serious soul searching.

Please don't let it happen here.

Not sure but if it was deleted it must have been bad. I can't believe some of the stuff I've seen on here, the bad stuff doesn't last long. One of the few positive things about the guest function is anyone can use it to delete what's been said about them.

You know this board is a bit of fun and when it stops being fun there's not much point really is there? You don't need to log on and chat with people to find out when TFC are playing. That's what facebook is for!

The few people I've met from here have been utterly charming. There's lots of nice people on here that I haven't met too, but there are others on here I would want a restraining order against, and it doesn't feel particularly safe if you can't tell them apart.
