nah, not a chance; if I can't waste enough time on Basefook, I'm over here like a shot :D

plus Fbook is for everyone I know; this place is for the sweet-ass freaks like me who understand why and how music gets ya by the gills and don't let go.

i like what someone said the other day about this site still being 'home' ah, cosy ... get out of my armchair !!
I will now proceed to untangle the entire area.

Exactly, and that's the drag about FB for me. I don't want to hear what everyone I've known since I was 5 had for lunch yesterday or be asked to join your family in Mafia Wars. And I certainly don't want to dredge through all that to chat about TFC.

Whilst no-one believed that it was as a direct consequence of the bullying on the forum, it will obviously not have helped, there were a number of people that must have done some serious soul searching.

Please don't let it happen here.

funny that if something positive happens to someone, then no one tries to link it to guests on the teenage fanclub message board. funny that isn't it? doug brown goes on to buy a yacht and has a personal driver. do people on here ever credit guests for that? do they? no only the negative. you're all cockbags.

Why has this subject come up again? What prompted it this time?

because it affected everyone on the board, and some had to have this happen to make them stop being arseholes to nervous/shy/depressed people that are perhaps reticent in having a conversation about their passions in the real world. Sure they may be tedious bores like myself, but dinnae fire into them for that, ignore them. Not every body is straight down the line happy, well adjusted and confident.

TFC are a pretty mellow kind kind of band and I'm sure that they would frown upon any form of nastiness, so be a little more thoughtful considerate to others whatever path you tread.

I think it is because of a real nasty attack a couple of nights back on one of the regular board contributors. It was pretty extreme and thankfully removed by someone. Unfortunately I'm sure some damage had already been done by then.

I'm glad I didn't see that. Is that why then has gone?

I dunno, didn't see it either.. but west has left the board and also he's pulled out of the tribute because of it.. fair do's have to respect him for that.. must've been horrible abuse for him to have done that though..

Aside from Tom's absence and the fun he generated, it seems no different to me this year than last or the year before or the year before, etc. I didn't see the latest bout, but hope Jim returns soon. I hate to see good folks leave over what to everyone but perhaps the target is meaningless trolling.

I hetitate to rub salt in any open wounds, but how bad was the attack on Jim? The routine nastiness in here seems very mild to me, especially because most it is anonymous.

It must have been some pretty horrid stuff because knowing Jim and the thick skin and sense of fun he has, Its definately not like him to surrender to such nonsense

More power to the bullies i guess :?

Have you actually been a target Jake?? On the whole its not too bad, generally stuff you can rub from your back but when it gets personal its a different matter
