3 nights at Camden Underworld, 2001

Postby The_Orr on Wed Mar 03, 2010 11:22 pm

Does anyone know if any live recordings of these gigs were released? I once had a copy of 'Broken' with the crowd singing at the end (really beautiful) but I lost it to a dodgy hard drive and can't find another copy.

I saw a 20 track, 2CDR recording (on Columbia) went on Ebay in 2004 for £101 so I assume some recording must have been made (I'm sure I remember a big truck outside the gigs - mobile recording?) but nothing appears to have turned up.

They were some of the best TFC gigs I have ever seen and would love hear them again. Any ideas?

By all accounts all nights were recorded by SONY for a possible release, which never happened, apparntly the band not were happy with recording. One of the nighs ( i think the acoustic) has appeared on EBAY in promo for for silly money. dont know who owns the rights, the band or sony, neither I would think are motivated to release them now.

Ah, the electric night saw me reacquainted with TFC after a 6 or 7 year absence. I've never looked back. Would be great to hear a recording. Even better to see them live again soon!

unmixed reference cd's were made but the recordings remain unmixed. We'll maybe get round to looking at them again sometime in the future.

I know that an incredibly shoddy recording exists... I personally smuggled
a very clunky, lo-fi tape recorder into the venue and recorded some of
one of the nights. What a criminal mind, right? I also managed a decent
snapshot or two. I'd have to dig around to find any of that as a bit of time
has passed, gulp. Nine years ago?! Eeesh. What amazing shows!

Dear All,

Just logged in for the first time in years and years and noticed this thread.

For those wanting to listen to recordings of these shows, I have just put my recordings of the first 2 nights up on DimeADozen which is a members only site. If anyone on here has an account I don't mind you downloading them and sharing elsewhere. Both great shows with the band in excellent form, recordings are excellent as well. Failing that I could always put them on dropbox.

First night - http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-deta ... ?id=521655

Second night - http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-deta ... ?id=521793

I didn't record the third night as the band came on a little early and I missed the start.

Oh wow - I don't have an account on that site. If there is another way of getting hold of those, I would be sooooooo grateful - please :-). I went to all three nights and all were fantastic (as were the three nights at Oran Mor in 2009 (I think it was then, or maybe 2008?)). The only song I have from any of the Underworld gigs is the version of Broken as mentioned earlier in the thread with everyone singing along after the band had left the stage.

I'll see what I can do. I'm away from home for the next three weeks or so, so it won't be done too quickly.
