My film of the day

Comfort and Joy. It's not Bill Forsyth's best, but it's a good wee film.
Arnold Brown is great as the sleazy psychiatrist. "Any sexual violence?"
The dvd's a tenner at hmv.

today it's the original version of the Grudge. very atmospheric - I'd recommend it to fans of the Ring and Dark Water.

Rented this last night, bit bonkers but strangely watchable, Ewen Bremner is great in it. Don't know if i enjoyed it or not, havent decided yet. All this Dogme 95 nonsence. i hear Harmony Korines other film, gummo is better.

I bought The Grudge (original Japanese version) last night and have just watched it. Was very good! I'm certainly thinking about buying the two previous Japanese Ju-On films :)

Last night watched Holes, a kinda leftfield Disney movie. Rhonda and I both rnjoyed it. Quite Tim Burton-esque and a bit of Beck in the soundtrack. Patricia Arquette, Jon Voight and Sigourney Weaver all v. good and nice to see Eartha Kitt doing something. :D

This and 'The Crawling Eye' made up a bit of a daft paranoid fifties sf evening last night.

I also saw the Cooler the other night but didn't much rate it. Macey's great but the stupid ending ruined it a bit for me. Bullshit, is what I thought.
