My film of the day

I really enjoyed Midnight In Paris too, you could probably pull it to bits quite easily but why bother, Woody's clearly living in his own little bubble but that's interesting in itself maybe. it made me smile a lot. I thought Hemingway was especially great.

Yes, my thoughts entirely! I found myself thinking "Surely that didn't / wouldn't / couldn't happen ... oh what the heck, it doesn't matter!"
I could see Woody Allen in some of the parts played (Owen Wilson in particular), and I guess that's his influence as director. The best films are the ones with lots of talking points to go through afterwards.

Daphne Oram documentary.. not strictly a film in the cinematic sense I know, but I felt it would get lost posted on the Youtube thread..

Went to see this with my son on Saturday. Excellent movie and refreshingly different.

Took my daughter along to see this on Saturday.. she found it very interesting as she's feeling the pressure with her Art GCSE and I felt it kinda recharged her outlook a wee bit to see how an artist goes about their business. Nice wee Q&A afterwards hosted by Russell Brand with the director and the artist. Definitely worth a looksee if it makes an appearance at any festivals near you. More info here: http://makeyourowndamnfilm.com/

Another film the director made is the lovely documentary The London Perambulator featuring Nick Papadimitriou, Will Self, Iain Sinclair and Russell Brand.. If you like your Psychogeography.. :)
