empty space

empty space

...one of the most amazing songs ever. LIstened to it on way to work this morning (not for the first time) and with the chill in the air as I walked across Blackfriars bridge it was perfect :)

Just wanted to share...thanks for listening :)

Music can give you moments like that, can't it? They send a tingle up and down the spine and put a spring in your step. The combination of music and ordinary, everyday moments is a fine thing.

Hope the rest of your day is as good. Not likely, I suppose, but... :?

The first time Empty Space really got to me was early one clear, frosty morning on the way to work too. I had a good view of the city skyline, and the picked guitar was like the sound frost on the trees 8)

It put me in a good mood for the day

i have a very special memory too about hearing those three new songs for the first time. i remember being amazed by "empty space" in copenhagen airport waiting for my connecting flight to manchester. i was on my way to see TFC in liverpool. later that day "the world'll be okay" hit me when i was listening it in the bus on the way from manchester to liverpool.
and then a few days later i saw TFC live for the first time in my life. wow that was a magical mystery trip then. gonna do it again when they tour again in UK, hopefully in winter.

...I was listening to "The World'll be OK" on the train this morning and I thought "It doesn't get any better than this", then "Empty Space" came on. Oh man, I was floating. :)

All three of the new songs on "4766" are brilliant, but I especially connected with "Empty Space". Something about the way the music builds after "Lost in the spin/don't know where to begin" is so satisfying.

For some reason, this song bums me out a little, especially if it's a gloomy day - like it is here today. :(

Well, if you held a beretta to me cranium, I'd be hard pressed to pick between 'The World...', 'Empty Space' and 'Did I Say'.

Roll on the new album!

Did I say, like when Tom sent me them before they came out, right, that Empty Space waas the best song I had ever heard?

Look folks, the last two neew tunes Gerry has written, Empty Space and One Thousand Lights, are simply fucking perfect.

The guy's a fucking genius. He gives me the fucking will to live. End Of.

I'd like to hear Gerry do a song with KEANE. That would be great.

Yeah. Surely enough to convince them to jack it in and look to a career in biscuit tasting. Piano led wank shaftery (copyright, Paco).

Gerry'd have them tired out with a few nights out dancing to some proper northern soul.

They'd feel like they'd just been beaten up by Stevie Wonder. And believe me, for the like of them, that's more than they deserve.
