Just out:

Very much worth the price of admission. 46 pieces of "twee" indie pop including a track by The Clouds called Get Out of My Dream. I have it on good authority (from Duglas T) that Norman played all the guitars (uncredited on this cut).
The compilation also features early Primal Scream single All Fall Down (before they were crap), very early My Bloody Valentine, the Pooh Sticks funny document of the times I Know Someone Who Knows Some One Who Knows Alan McGee Quite Well, The Shop Assistants, V-Twin (with Katrina Mitchell), pre-Stereolab Tim Gaine with McCarthy and genuine indie pop classics from Felt, The Pastels, Josef K, The Vaselines and Television Personalities. :D

I fucking love that Clouds track! :D Got it years ago on a Subway Records compilation album -'Take Your Subway To The Suburbs' or something!

Had no idea Norman might have played on it. Makes sense.

Don't think so. Double CD is very cheap though.

The Clouds on this CD were from Glasgow. Norman definetly played all the guitars on both sides of their single on Subway Records but wasn't credited as being on the record. He also toured with them on guitar and was later replaced by Gordon Keen (Eugenius/ BMX Bandits).
I remember Norman setting off on a 2 week tour with The Clouds with 20p, a change of underwear and a plain loaf of bread and nothing else.
Gino the drummer (a wonderful guy) now owns the Chip Shop in Milngavie (near Glasgow).
I also really like My Bloody Valentine's Paint A Rainbow.

The doorsteps of that plain loaf toasted over a single bar electric fire would keep you going for a fortnight nae bother.

I have two tracks by The Clouds that I got off a couple Subway comps: "Tranquill" and "Village Green" - take it these are by the same band?

Hmm, no wonder I dig those songs ...

They are called Whole Wide World Vol. 1 and Vol. 2

Other great bands on these comps: The Flatmates (AWESOME!), The Chesterfields (isn't this another band with member/s of TFC?), The Rosehips, early The Soup Dragons and Pop Will Eat Itself (?!), The Groove Farm, Choo Choo Train (the band that "morphed" into Velvet Crush), Razorcuts, Rodney Allen (hot tracks!), Bubblegum Splash, etc.
