A legend. A cousin of mine once played table tennis with him too...

I don't believe his (and partner Peter Taylor's) achievements at Derby County and Nottingham Forest can be overestimated (lower Div 2 to League Champions at Derby, mid Div 2 to European Cup Winners (twice) at Forest). I wasnae impressed with some of the eccentricities towards the end of his career mind you, nor the Teddy Sheringham transfer to Spurs. Still, a true legend of the game in England and sad to see him go.

Can you imagine Norwich, West Brom or Crystal Palace winning the Premiership at the first attempt this season. Of course not. Incredible to think that this is what Cloughie's Forest did in 78' after being promoted to the old 1st Div. Then added 2 European Cups as well. Un-fuck-ing believeable. This will only start to be appreciated once Arsenal/Man Utd win 2 European Cups in a row.

Don't forget he was an incredible player too - 204 goals in 222 games for Boro. Would have got more England caps but for injury

And I think it was 53 in 58 for Sunderland.
