but I did think doug would like the cure, seeing he has, oh about 50 live marlyn manson bootlegs FACT! and used to do that thing to his hair with sugary water. or was it an egg. anyway,I blame the kure for the silly goth thing.

Not true guest but you did raise a smile and rekindle memories of the nasty guest who used to rant on about me being a frustrated Goth!
Brilliant!
I do have some MM bootlegs ... but not 50....thatll be my Zep, Buckley, Adams collection

Like so many 80s groups sadly.

Not when you listen to the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Strokes etc...
They clearly draw inspiration from the Cure.

And you can add Hot Hot Heat to this list.

I gave them a jolly good, mainly coz of early stuff.
I have that remix danced up album of theirs and its truly pish
So, yeah maybe a bit of nostalgia from the killing an arab days.
I am a bit of a stuffies fan seen them more than a dozen times, travelled to Nottingham 2001 to see them at "the longest day", they were superb. Miles' solo stuff is pretty good too ................................................................. OK , I'll get my coat

One of those bands which I've never bought an album, but really really like a good half dozen of their songs. Boys Don't Cry, Inbetween Days, Just Like Heaven, Love Song, Friday I'm In Love, Close To Me... yeah!

Haven't voted either way. As I don't own any of the albums I don't feel in a position to be objective, however they did do some great singles IMO. Never a great fan of Robert Smith or his voice - he wore make up badly and inspired what seemed like a million goth clones during my Uni years.

Re The wonderstuff - excellent to start with but went downhill badly. I put HUP on a few weeks ago and it has dated badly. :(
Ye gods, I'm simply thrilled honey

Absolutely love them. Great band. Someone lent me the Staring At The sea compilation about fifteen years ago and I've been a fan ever since. Still haven't managed to see them live yet though. Definitely on my list of oldies who I want to go and see.

I was a big fan of their early releases..i've followed them up to "wish" but after that, i gave up on 'em. i thought "faith" was pretty good but "disintegration" was their best.
i tried to write another chorus but i didn't get that far, coz trying to sum you up in a song's like catching sunlight in a jar.

* hauls out stock response to a Cure song being played*

If that's the Cure, I wouldn't want the disease! [Didn't someone else post this a while ago?]

That said, I like that ad with 'Pictures of You', much to Ponygirl's delight, she's a big Cure fan.
